3.25 All finished - after a best of 5 final Black Sheep 3 wins Mahurangi 2 wins Plate final won by ADLA from Harriers. Silver fleet knockout competition is running at the same time, no results as yet. 11.40am Round Robin 1 completed, the top 4 qualifiers are Black Sheep, ADLA, Mahurangi and Harriers. Racing has started in the knockout series for both top four and next 8. Results will be posted on this page as they arrive. 9.30am Showery weather with a light westerly building. Boats and sailors are just heading out onto the water. Format of the event has now been changed as the planned gold and silver fleet round robin cannot be completed due to lack of wind. When the first round robin has been completed there will be a knockout competition for the top four teams, followed by a knockout for the next 8 teams.
Sunday June 1st - Day 2 4:30pm Action continuing in challenging light variable conditions. Sailing will continue to complete the round robin if at all possible (but darn, not full moon tonight) 2:00pm Wind finally settled in to a steady 5-6knots, the race committee are on a roll now, up to race 37. 12.30pm Winds still light and variable. Beautiful day if you are planning to go fishing. 7 races completed so far, with Black Sheep now the only team without a loss. 10am Boats are heading out to start racing in light winds. Forecast for wind building during the day.
Saturday May 31 - Day 1
4.30pm - racing finished early for the day as the wind finally died completely. 19 races completed with an early lead to Black Sheep, Brown Sheep and SID, all on 3 wins. More wind forecast for tomorrow, so will hope to finish the first round robin and maybe start the second. 2.45pm - racing underway again in a light northeasterly, after a break of an hour waiting for the wind to come in. 11 races completed. 11.30 - Racing underway in light shifty conditions. First course change of the day has just been completed.
